This is What Printing Looks Like

watching this reminds me of childhood...

Flash Reprodcutions prints and diecuts Visual Inclinations' dvd case and business cards. Flash has been around for 40 years. While my family print shop is almost at 50, I have a feeling that they are poised to stand as a bastion of traditional print techniques into the future.

Steven Jockisch

I love finding nice behance portfolios filled with type and clean, playful design. Check out this Brooklyn designer's personal site or flickr.
I always thought this style was awesome but totally idealistic. Who's doodles actually look like this? maybe I'm just jealous.

these lined numerals were the first work I saw of Steven's. I knew I had to view his portfolio.

really digging the stroke weights. that s!

the type treatment reminds me of early 20th century books. the type and the palette paired with Taafe's amazing psychedelic and highly organic drawings make the book seem almost like a science text.

Doyald Young

Awhile back, my friend Jes sent me this video:

Oh, Doyald Young, you seem like an awfully nice man. Would you mind if you taught me everything you know? I'm a great baker.

This is a handsome collection of Young's three works. Some typophiles have pointed out that it's actually cheaper to buy them separately from the site. Weird.

here are two of his fonts:

and 2 cool process pieces on logotype design:
