Michael Kutsche

I still haven't seen Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, but I did just find the original character designs by Michael Kutsche!

Q. Cassetti

This New Yorker has a wide array of work, but my favorites are Cassetti's black and white decorative skulls. It has a linocut feel and is most definitely influenced by imagery from the Day of the Dead in Mexico (another favorite):

Daniela Carvalho

My favorite pieces from Spanish illustrator, Daniela Carvalho:

Revival of Organisms

while I was looking for that article about the math behind zombie invasions, I found this video:

Everything about it is fascinating. The typography, animation, the science which I'm sure led to bypass surgery technology, and let's not forget, this was an American-Soviet Friendship video...

the Zombie Math

so, this is old news, but if you haven't heard, the mathematical probability of zombie attack doesn't bode well for the alive and healthy.

“Only sufficiently frequent attacks, with increasing force, will result in eradication, assuming the available resources can be mustered in time,” they concluded...

How fast do we need to deal with the outbreak? Here’s the equation they used, where S = susceptibles, Z = zombies and R = removed. If an infection breaks out in a city of 500,000 people, the zombies will outnumber the susceptibles in about three days.

check out the math:

I imagine that the big letter "Z" in the middle is a symbol for # of Zombies.
